What is Mindfulness? 

A mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness is cultivated through meditation. 

How Can Mindfulness Benefit You During Childbirth And Even Beyond?

  • Childbirth is not easy, and neither is meditation. During Childbirth we need to learn to react to the sensations in our body from a place of calm and clarity rather than fear and panic, and it is through mindfulness meditation we develop these skills.

  • Mindfulness practices allow us to let go of preconceived ideas, and thoughts about childbirth. It allows us to create our own birth stories.

  • With Mindfulness we see each sensation in our body for what they are, learning to embrace them with compassion.

  • Mindful practice enables us to be in a calm place to make good decisions, leading to stronger, and positive moves during difficult times. 

  • During pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting there is no guarantee that negative situations will not arise. Mindfulness practice ensures that your response to negative situations will be better than those who have not done the work.

  • Tap into deep inner resources for working with pain.

  • Build a birth plan

  • Build a postpartum care plan
