POSTPARTUM DOULA SUPPORT

Dedicated postpartum care that comes directly to your home — supporting your physical recovery, your feeding journey, and your emotional transition into parenthood during the weeks that matter most.

What’s included: in-home postpartum visits, newborn care education, emotional support, household assistance, and feeding guidance whether breast, bottle, pump, or a combination.

CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION

Nurse-led, private childbirth education built around your specific pregnancy, your hospital, and your goals — not a generic group class. Three sessions that give you a real strategy, not just information.

What’s included: three private virtual sessions with Mitsuzi, personalized birth strategy document, partner training, contingency planning, and postpartum preparation.

FAQ

Do I need a doula if I already have an OB or midwife?

Yes — and here's why. Your OB or midwife manages your clinical care. Your doula manages you — your emotions, your decisions, your birth plan, and your partner. These roles are completely different, and having both means nothing falls through the cracks.

I'm planning a C-section. Do I still need support?

Absolutely. A planned or unplanned cesarean still deserves preparation, advocacy, and emotional support. We help you build a C-section birth plan, understand what to expect in the OR, and feel calm and informed going in.

What if I want an epidural?

We support every birth — unmedicated, epidural, induction, VBAC, and cesarean. An epidural manages pain. It does not manage decisions, communication with your care team, or what happens if your plan changes. Our clients with epidurals benefit just as much as those without.

How does the collective model work?

Every client starts with a consultation with Mitsuzi, our RN founder. She gets to know you, matches you with a certified doula from the collective, and leads your prenatal education. You also get to meet and interview your matched doula before anything is finalized — so you choose who is in your corner. Backup coverage is built into every package so you are never left without support regardless of when labor starts or how long it runs.

I had a difficult birth before. Can you help me prepare differently this time?

Yes — and this is exactly the kind of preparation we specialize in. Many of our clients come to us after a previous birth that felt out of control, confusing, or traumatic. We help you process what happened, understand what you want this time, and build a strategy around your specific situation.

What is included in the free consultation?

A real conversation — no pressure, no pitch. Mitsuzi will learn about your pregnancy, your goals, and what kind of support you are looking for. If Birthing Noire is a good fit, she will walk you through the options. If not, she will point you in the right direction.
