Pregnancy & Birth Tips from a Houston Doula You Can Trust.
Nurse-Led Prenatal Coaching for Hospital Birth
You're Researching. Reading Every Blog. Taking All the Classes. But You Still Feel Anxious.
Here’s why:
Most birth prep focuses on what to pack, what breathing techniques to use, or what positions to try. That’s helpful. But it doesn’t answer the questions keeping you up at 2am:
- What actually happens when I get to the hospital?
- How do I know when it’s really time to go?
- What if the nurses or doctors pressure me into decisions I don’t want?
- What questions should I be asking my provider NOW, before labor starts?
- How do I avoid interventions I don’t need?
- What if my birth plan falls apart the moment contractions start?
You can’t Google your way to confidence.
Real confidence comes from understanding how hospitals work—from someone who’s been in thousands of birth rooms and knows what actually matters.
This is for you if...
You're planning a hospital birth and want to understand how to navigate the system
You're a first-time parent who wants to feel prepared, not panicked
You had a traumatic or rushed previous birth and want something different this time
You want to avoid unnecessary interventions but don't know how to push back respectfully
You're feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice and need someone who actually knows hospitals
You want your partner to feel confident supporting you (not helpless)
You want real answers from an L&D nurse, not generic advice from the internet
Not for...
Families planning free births
Anyone looking for medical advice or telehealth services (this is educational coaching only)
Clients who prefer in-person doula support over virtual coaching (we offer that too—just a different service!)
I'm Not a Generic Childbirth Educator. I'm Your Personal Labor Nurse.
Hi, I’m Mitsuzi Green — a Labor & Delivery nurse with 13 years of hospital experience and AWHONN certification in fetal monitoring.
I’ve supported hundreds of births. I know how hospitals operate. I know what nurses are thinking. I know what questions providers expect—and which ones catch them off guard.
And I know that most families walk into birth underprepared for the hospital system itself.
Birth classes teach you how to breathe. But they don’t teach you:
- How to read your contraction pattern and know when to leave for the hospital
- What questions to ask when your OB suggests induction
- How to decline a cervical check without feeling awkward
- What “hospital policies” are actually flexible
- How to keep your birth plan intact when things get intense
That’s what this coaching series is for.
I translate the hospital experience into calm, clear guidance so you can advocate for yourself, make informed decisions, and walk into birth feeling confident—not confused.

After my first traumatic birth, I was terrified to try again. Mitsuzi walked me through what went wrong last time, how to prevent it this time, and what I could control vs. what I couldn't. She didn't sugarcoat anything, but she also didn't scare me. I went into my second birth feeling calm and ready—and it was night and day different." —Adiam .T
WHY VIRTUAL COACHING WORKS
“But won’t I need someone IN PERSON during labor?”…Maybe!
That’s what our doula services are for.
But here’s the thing: most of the anxiety parents feel isn’t about labor itself. It’s about not knowing what to expect in the hospital.
Virtual coaching gives you:
- Personalized guidance (not generic group classes)
- Access to a real L&D nurse (not just a childbirth educator)
- Flexibility (schedule sessions around your life, no commute)
- Ongoing support (not just one 4-hour class and goodbye)
- Lower cost than full doula services (perfect if you already have a birth partner or doula)
And if you DO want in-person labor support? You can combine this coaching with our Sacred Birth Doula Package for the ultimate support system.
